Vertix has been studying and evaluating the feasibility of connecting the Mandai precinct with a People Mover System (PMS). Various types of the systems, including buses, Light Rail, Automatic People Movers (APM), and Group Rapid Transit (GRT) have been studied to determine the appropriate PMS to be adopted taking into account various factors including expected ridership, projected park visitorship numbers and cost of the PMS and operational requirements of the Mandai parks. The study also includes alignment optimisation, concept design, interim transport plan, and integration plan with existing infrastructures for the PMS.

We have also recently completed a study of a PMS for Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila, Philippines. This study involved the evaluation and conceptual design for a PMS connecting all of the airport terminals. Detailed evaluation of APM technologies including Bombardier Innova and Mitsubishi Crystal Mover, electric Bus options, light rail and GRT autonomous vehicles. This study included the complexities associated with working in landside and airside restricted spaces, security considerations, reliability expectations and crossing an airfield.
