UpgradeVertix Asia Pacific Pte Ltd team, together with Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, developed a masterplan for Opus Bay, a 57 Ha mixed-use district located in Batam, Indonesia. This masterplan ensured the vision of the project partners could be facilitated by the road network and transportation facilities through a comprehensive plan to be staged over the masterplan lifespan.
The Opus Bay Masterplan aims to develop a high-density, mixed-use district serving both locals and tourist from the neighbouring countries. It was also envisioned for Opus Bay to be the host of major events at its iconic event space along the water edge.
Opus bays comprised of 2 main program area, Plot B and C. Plot C comprises of entertainment spaces, boutique hotel, clubs, retails, shops and convention centre, while Plot B makes up of 90% of the entire residential component of the district.
The associated transport infrastructure to facilitate the daily activities includes the road network of each plot, multiple underground hub parking and an integrated public transport system comprising an elevated people moving system and at-grade bus system.
The masterplan developed by Vertix and the other project partners was accepted by the client and will be implemented in phases.
